![]() Sankofa means, "To return to the past in order to go foward" (i.e. It's never to late to go back and correct something). The Sankofa project is an international movement of empowerment and self improvement, helping people to put the Nguzo Saba (Seven Principles of Kwanzaa) in to practice 365 days a year. Sankofa is dedicated to the empowerment of the family, especially the African American family. We believe that a thorough grounding in these principles will restore our families and thereby our communities back to wholeness. Use this website to review the Principles regularly. All ages are welcome. However, in keeping with our theme of families, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all Sankofa functions. Upcoming Sankofa events, including Drill Team performances will be posted on the upcoming events page. Please check regularly for additions. ![]() |
